At WKRG News 5 and the Gulf Coast CW, we are looking for an Administrative Assistant/Sales Assistant to help with day to day administrative operations and assist our Sales Department as needed. Responsibilities include but are not limited to receptionist duties, assisting with filing and distribution of mail to all departments, assisting our sales department with clerical duties, and other sales needs. This individual should be neat in appearance, have a pleasant personality and voice, have good computer skills, and know how to use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software. Account Executives work within established Sales Department guidelines to increase sales volume with assigned accounts, aggressively seeks new customers for both TV and eMedia business, executes plans and strategies set forth by sales management, maintains awareness of the competition, and maintains visibility in the community.
WKRG-TV News 5 is accepting applications for a Local Sales Manager for our CBS and CW broadcast affiliates as well as our METV and BOUNCE diginets. Successful candidates must be dynamic, proactive leaders who participate in the selling efforts through team building and leadership. They should possess excellent motivational and teaching skills as well as street level training abilities. This position will be involved in all aspects of the sales operation including overall budget performance, accurate forecasting, inventory management and staff development. Must demonstrate strong organizational skills, expertise in planning and establishing revenue goals and implementing the strategies/tactics to achieve them; must have excellent communication skills, a successful track record in new business development; a positive “can do” attitude; strong work ethic and integrity and willing to lead by example.

Responsibilities also include completing daily logs using Wide Orbit (or similar traffic software); assist in planning and execution of station sponsored community events. Creativity, the ability to handle multiple projects, and having fun while still hitting tight deadlines are key.
Here’s what makes you a successful candidate:
- 1-2 years hands-on non-linear editing experience, preferably with Adobe Premiere
- Demonstrable experience with Adobe After Effects
- Broadcast television experience strongly preferred, previous news promotions helpful
- Ability to shoot and light on location and in the studio
- Cinema 4D (or similar animation software) and Illustrator experience desired
- Experience creating social media content for advertising use
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Be able to lift up to and including 70 pounds
- Be a positive brand ambassador to the public at community events
- Have and maintain a current valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
