STATEMENT OF UNITED STATES ATTORNEY:
ARREST OF ASSISTANT U.S. ATTORNEY J.D. ROY ATCHISON
Pensacola, Florida - Gregory R. Miller, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, makes the following
statement in response to the arrest of Assistant United States Attorney J.D. Roy Atchison in Detroit on Sunday, September 16:
“The employees of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida are deeply saddened by the arrest of federal civil attorney J.D. Roy Atchison. Investigations and prosecutions of this nature are both sensitive and difficult. Our office is fully cooperating with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan (Detroit), the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Macomb County (Michigan) as they continue their work on this case. We have confidence in the integrity of the work these law enforcers and prosecutors are doing, and believe that in the end, justice will be served. We are, of course, concerned about the welfare of Mr. Atchison’s family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them. The men and women of the United States Attorney’s Office are true professionals – in every sense of the word. The public can be assured they are doing the work of the nation’s law firm with excellence, dedicated to ably serving the people of this District.”

“deeply saddened”?! Um...I guess I’m stuck in gear somewhere between deeply outraged and deeply concerned that a pedophile was working as a US Attorney. Especially when a sicko can keep his job while a non-Bushie...not so much. *gags*
