Pass Christian, Mississippi native Robin Roberts says her prognosis is "quite good." In a telephone interview with the Associated Press, Roberts said the cancer is out of her body and she is healing from the surgery.Roberts announced on ABC's "Good Morning America" July 31st that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent surgery August 3rd.
The 46-year-old says doctors will wait several weeks for her to heal before having her undergo more treatment, which may mean chemotherapy. Roberts says she did not want to be specific about her treatment until she is certain what it will be.
Roberts says her mother, who still lives in Pass Christian, was fussing at her for returning to work less than two weeks after her surgery.
