NEW YORK (AP) - NBC may not be catching any more predators for a
while.
NBC Universal has settled a 105-million-dollar lawsuit brought
by a woman who says a televised sex sting drove her brother to kill
himself.
Patricia Conradt's brother was a suburban Dallas prosecutor. Her
lawsuit claimed he killed himself after he was accused on
"Dateline NBC's To Catch A Predator" show of engaging in a
sexually explicit online chat with what he thought was a
13-year-old boy.
New episodes of the series ended in December. And a spokeswoman
for NBC says it's turning its focus now to investigations dealing
with national security and the economy.
The lawsuit claimed NBC "steamrolled" authorities to arrest
Louis Conradt Junior. A preliminary ruling last winter by a federal
judge declared a jury might conclude the network "crossed the line
from responsible journalism to irresponsible and reckless intrusion
into law enforcement."
Terms of the out-of-court settlement haven't been disclosed but
it's described as amicable.

That is the biggest crock that I have ever seen!!! He only killed himself cause he got caught, and she gets to reap the benefits of her brother being a pedophile! This is disgusting!

asda , i agree with you totally, they should sue .  that is so twisted she did not sue to clear his name but to collect money.

rosepetal you are right he probally does have a few victims out there and I hope they see this story and sue his sister and his estate.  Maybe she will understand that he is a sick person that needed to be taken off the streets.

asda, no i did not miss it, it was sickening. you never know about people. i bet he has victims out there that have not come forward.

rosepetal did you miss the part about the brother being a suburban Dallas prosecutor.  That is the part that got me.  This guy is suppose to be the one making crimals pay for their crimes.  Meanwhile he is a child molester.

Dateline NBC’s To Catch A Predator” show of engaging in a
sexually explicit online chat with what he thought was a
13-year-old boy.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> he engages in a sexual online chat with a 13 year old, gets exposed gets his feelings hurt, kills his self and his sister blames the station that could have saved a child.  she did not sue to clear his name, but rather for money how twisted is that.

I like that fact that NBC was trying to combat a problem that the authorities seem to not be handling.  I believe that child molestors should be put in general populations and let the prisions handle them.  They are the lowest form of life.

It doesn’t matter that brother was a child molestor, all that matters is that he wouldn’t have killed himself if NBC hadn’t caught him in the act of trying to be a perverted freak.

Congrats sister, brothers perversion got you a lot of money! At least he won’t be raping children anymore.

Just like I was saying that sex offender guy in Bay Minette should sue those teenage boys that invited him over.
