The Mobile-based Foosackly's chicken finger chain message started on a billboard. Now it's printed on t-shirts and will soon be available on bumper stickers.
On Monday, News 5 showed you the sign that said "We would like to offer Boeing a finger."
Owner Will Fusaiotti can't believe the response he's been getting from both sides of the tanker contest. "A lot of people are having fun with it. Even a lot of emails we've gotten from Boeing employees that have said they just picked themselves off the floor from laughter. We're not trying to make money on this thing, we're trying to get the word out there and get people excited about being from Mobile and being behind Northrop and their quest for this contract."
The t-shirts run about twelve bucks a pop and are available on eBay and in restaurants by Thursday.
The bumper stickers will be printed and given away starting Friday.
The 8 words traveled fast and the message is expected to be featured in the Sunday edition of the Seattle Times.
In the meantime, you can find the billboard on Interstate 65 North between Dauphin Street and Springhill Avenue until (at least) Friday.
A church on Dauphin Island Parkway has also posted a message on their marquis that says "God has given us something that Boeing can never take away."
Pastor Doug Jolly of South Brookley United Methodist Church says this contest has offered new life! "It looks like its been taken away from us and so that's hurtful. What we're trying to do is encourage everybody and say hey, even if it doesn't happen... God is still in control. There's still hope for the future."
