PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Panama City Beach Police are
asking the public for help in identifying a man who apparently
drowned in the Gulf of Mexico.
Major David Humphreys says the man was wearing a cross on a gold
chain and a bracelet with the Ichthys, a religious symbol that
looks like a fish.
The man was swimming in front of Legacy By The Sea condo on
Front Beach Road at about 12:30 p.m.
Panama City Beach Police and the U.S. Coast Guard searched for
him.
Police say rescuers found him face down in the water a short
time later, but attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Authorities say foul play is not suspected. Humphreys says
investigators will not be able to confirm the man drowned until an
autopsy can be performed.
