Thursday morning, St. Paul’s Senior, Carmen Chambers, the Student Body President, addressed her fellow students and the news media about a threatening letter found in a classmate's locker earlier this week. Kenyattia Hackworth found the letter inside her school locker Tuesday. The letter was laced with racial slurs, offensive language and a drawing of a "whites only" tree with a dangling noose.

Maybe the letter was planted by wkrg for raitings. Hmmm Could be. Stranger things have happened

NOT SO FAST….

Recently,a college student at an Ivy League school admitted to painting Nazi symbols on her door.

I hope the “victim” is investigated as is is strange that her parents called the news media and consented to interviews rather than reporting it to the police and working to catch the person responsible.

Lastly, has anyone ever heard of a letter from an avowed racist using the word “Blacks”?  I am afraid that a real racist would have used real insulting words, such as the “N word”

In every school children do things behind their parent’s backs, it is part of being a teenager. You cannot deny the pristine education the children receive at the school, whether or not you agree with their parent’s decision to send them there. It is not your choice to make. St. Paul’s Episcopal School is a bible based school and the actions of one lost, troubled soul does not reflect the entire student body.

Another wonderful thing about St.Paul is they teach students HOW to think unlike the indoctrination of public schools that teach(termed loosely) students WHAT to think.

It’s entirely possible this whole thing may shake out as a planted letter by some bitter individual trying to create chaos.

I’m sure the student poulation would explode at all Christian based private schools if people were given vouchers based on their tax monies, to send their children to the school of THEIR choice and desire.

Another fine example of Govt. and unions feeling they better know how to spend our money and teach our children. Mobile Co. public school system is a business. We the people deserve a choice!!

I read the letter and hope that if a student wrote it, they were intentionally trying to come across as some sort of uneducated, backwoods, red-neck.  If he/she was not and that is really the way he/she speaks and writes, the whole English department at St. Paul’s should be fired and those parents are definitely wasting their money.

2652,

It is apparent you are not educated on this topic.  There are many working class, two income households that sacrifice so that their children can attend this school.  Which I might add is a “Christian, Bible based school”.  This school is known for it’s excellent academics and the last time I checked that is why we all send our children to school.  The children who graduate from these types of schools excel at top universities.  So don’t be so hard on parents that are trying to give their children building blocks to succeed.  The situation is very sad and will be handled, but let ALL the facts surface before making your judgement!

You sir cannot make an abrupt jump to conclusion based on your experiences alone from a private school twenty-five years ago. St. Paul’s School is worth all the money the parents work hard to receive. This is made apparent in graduation rate at St. Paul’s, and the college graduation rate. These people are becoming fine, upstanding members of society, but to you 2652, you take the easy road by bring down members of private schools. You call the school a waste. That is a travesty.

This school has been teaching for several decades and nothing of this magnitude has occcured. One bad incident happens and leads blind followers like yourself to believe it is a bad environment. Poor you.

What do you think?  Sending your child to such a snobbish school, that kind of thing is expected.  Those kids attending that school, just like a select others in Mobile is a waste.  They think they are better than other kids and they do alot of things behind their parents back.  Parents be selective on what private school you send your child, some are not worth the money you pay.  I attended a local private high school 25 years ago and there were some vindictive, spoiled rotten kids there.  They had the money to buy any type of drug you wanted and their parents thought they were angels.  Maybe the parents need to place their child in a Christian, Bible based school.
