A company spokesperson blamed the power outage on a transmission feed problem between an Alabama Power station in Birmingham to Riviera Utilities in Baldwin County.
Power went out around 4 this morning. Crews had it restored before 8 a.m.
A Riviera Utilities spokesman says Alabama Power is investigating what caused the transmission feed problem, but he does not expect the same thing will happen again tonight when temperatures drop down into the teens for the first time in five years.
