The summer heat was apparently too much for a Foley man. Sheriff's deputies say Carlos Cuellar stole a window air-conditioning unit from his neighbor's workshop.

"It was funny," says Joel Doby. "I mean, how stupid can you get? Stealing someone A/C unit from next door and then installing it in your window?"

Joel Doby was one of Cuellar's victims. Cuellar is accused of breaking into garages and sheds in the Hunters Chase subdivision on Highway 98. Sheriff's deputies responding to the burglary calls spotted the stolen window unit at Cuellar's girlfriend's house behind Doby's home.

"I'm relieved we found it," says Doby. "I think I'll let the woman keep the window unit for a while. She has three kids, I guess they needed it more than I did."

Cuellar has been charged with four counts of burglary. Cuellar's bond has been set at 20-thousand dollars. Meanwhile, Doby says he'll keep his workshop door locked from now on.
