Update 5:33 p.m.Bayou La Batre Police have reopened Irvington-Bayou La Batre Highway. Police say the gas company shut off the natural gas to that high pressure line. Police say there are no dangers associated with the leak. Gas crews should have repairs finished in a couple of hours.
Bayou La Batre Police tells News 5 that crews are working to repair a high pressure natural gas line that has been ruptured. Police believe a car may have hit the line, and kept on driving.
Irvington-Bayou La Batre Highway from Highway 188 to Padgett Switt Road will be blocked off for the next hour.
