Detour Alert

Highway 188 in Bayou La Batre will be closed from Fernland Road to Argyle Road from Wednesday morning until Friday afternoon. Click here for detour details. Detour Alert

The Alabama Department of Transportation will close Highway 188 in Bayou La Batre at 8:00 Wednesday morning for emergency drainage repairs.

The stretch of road is expected to reopen before the Friday evening commute home.

Eastbound traffic will have to exit at Fernland Road and take a nearly 8 mile detour. Westbound traffic will have to exit at Argyle Road. (see map below)
