Monday, one of them was on on the website MySpace when he received an invitation from a man called "Mike."
When the conversation turned sexual, the teens decided to invite him over and then call police.
Officers say the man turned out to be John Salter who is a registered sex offender.
Even though police arrived before anything "bad" happened, News Five asked one of the teens why they would put themselves in danger.
News Five: Did you guys not realize the danger that you put your ownselves in? He could've been carrying a gun, could've killed all of you." Teenager: It's worth it. For my little brother's protection, for anybody else's protection. It's worth it. It's nothing to think twice about you know."
Bay Minette Police Chief Michael Roland says he does not recommend anyone taking the law into their own hands.
John Salter is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and enticement.
