Deputies make ‘porch pirate’ arrest in Jackson County

JACKSON CO, AL (WKRG) — Deputies have arrested a man accused of stealing packages from homes in Jackson County.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Robert Phillips, 34, of Moss Point for a string of “porch pirate” thefts in the St. Andrews neighborhood.  Sheriff Mike Ezell says Phillips is suspected of stealing packages after allegedly being caught-on-camera in the act. He says most of the packages have been recovered.

Ezell adds that Phillips was convicted of the same crime last year in St. Martin.

Phillips is charged with five counts of petty larceny, one count of simple possession of narcotics, and one count of drug paraphernalia. He is in jail, being held without bond.
