Snowfall “Possible” Friday Morning on the Gulf Coast

MOBILE, AL (WKRG) — When you walk outside your home on Friday morning, you might see something pretty unusual for the Gulf Coast.

According to News 5’s First Alert Storm Team, a light flurry of snow could be part of a sleet and freezing rain mix expected to reach the Gulf Coast on Friday morning.  Meteorologist John Nodar says no accumulation is expected.

However, you might see a few snowflakes fall from the sky.

Snow is relatively rare for the Gulf Coast, where any snow accumulation is considered to be extremely uncommon.

We’ll have more tonight on News 5, and throughout the week.
