Mobile, AL (WKRG) – WKRG’s Magical Christmas Toy Drive is in full swing. Groups continue to donate to help make Christmas brighter for children across the Alabama and Florida Gulf Coast.
Wednesday night, members of Neptune’s Daughters, a Mardi Gras organization in Mobile, dropped by the Toy Vault. The mystic organization has been collecting toys from its members since October. A few representatives from the group dropped by en mask to make their delivery before the toy drive ends. Neptune’s Daughters would like to challenge other area Mardi Gras organizations to make donations, too.
Wednesday, the students at Whitley Elementary also loaded up donations for the Magical Christmas Toy Drive. The Whitley Elementary Student Council collected monetary donations from students and then went out and purchased toys.
The Magical Christmas Toy Drive ends on December 18. Donations can be made at the WKRG Studios in Mobile or any of our sponsors. In Alabama, that includes Baldwin EMC, Zaxby’s, Wind Creek Casino and Hotel in Atmore, Columbia Southern University, Air Specialty and Greer’s. You can also drop off toys with our sponsors in Northwest Florida, which include, Levin Papantonio, Allen Turner Hyundai, ABC Supply Co., Zaxby’s and the Escambia County Florida Sheriff’s Office.
All toys donated in Alabama will be distributed to children in Alabama by the Salvation Army. Toys collected in Northwest Florida will stay in the panhandle and be distributed by the Salvation Army to children there.
