MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WKRG) – Former Alabama Attorney General Troy King has filed campaign paperwork to make a run for the position again. King filed the principal committee paperwork on November 13, and a long-dormant Facebook Page, Troy King for Attorney General, came back to life on October 23.
King was appointed to the position by Governor Bob Riley in 2004. King was elected to the position in 2006 but then lost to Luther Strange in the 2010 primary.
Current Attorney General Steve Marshall, Current Chief Deputy Attorney General Alice Martin, and Birmingham Attorney Chess Bedsole have all filed to run on the Republican side along with Democrat James Christie.
The 2018 Primary elections are set for June 5.
