Prosecutor: Assault Rifle Used in Deadly Prichard Shooting

UPDATE 4:35 PM — The Mobile County District Attorney’s Office tells News 5 the gun used in the crime was an assault rifle. News 5 has also learned that one of the wounded shooting victims, the girlfriend of Dortez Major Senior, was pregnant, according to Assistant District Attorney Keith Blackwood.

MOBILE, AL (WKRG) — A man booked into Mobile Metro Jail early Friday morning is facing a murder charge and four counts of attempted murder.

Christopher Tremaine Johnson, 20, is the suspect in the shooting death of Dortez Major Senior.

Major was shot and killed over the weekend near Thomas and Magee Streets in Prichard.

Major’s son, Dortez Major Junior, was wounded in the shooting. He was shot twice in the leg and had to undergo surgery.

According to police, the shooting stemmed from an argument that started in a Mobile nightclub last week.
