Florida Highway Patrol Officials Search for Man Involved in Pensacola Hit and Run

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — Florida Highway Patrol officials search for a man involved in a hit and run in Pensacola Monday afternoon.

According to the accident report, the driver of a black 2008 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling east on State Road 290, approaching the intersection of Ramsgate Dr. and the Circle K convenience store.

A second vehicle, a 2005 Dodge Dakota, was traveling west on S.R. 290, also approaching Ramsgate Dr. and the Circle K, the report stated.

The driver of the Chevrolet attempted to make a left turn into the Circle K store parking lot, violating the Dodge’s right of way, according to the report.

The report said that both vehicles collided in the roadway, causing the Chevrolet to hit a third vehicle parked in the store’s parking lot.

According to officials, the driver of the Chevrolet in the picture above is described as a black male by the name of “J.R.” who left the scene before law enforcement arrived and did not return during the course of the crash investigation.
