Final Day to Register to Vote in Alabama Special Election

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — For anyone interested in voting in Alabama’s special election for U.S. Senate, today (Nov. 27) is the last day to register.

People can register in person at the Mobile County Board of Registrars. The office is located on the first floor of the Mobile County Government Center Annex and is open until 4:30 p.m.

Online registration is available until midnight for anyone unable to visit the Mobile County Board of Registrars in person.

To register online, take these simple steps:

  1. Go to the Alabama Secretary of State website
  2. Select Voting in Alabama
  3. Select Voter Registration
  4. Select Online Registration
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Begin the Application Process

Requirements to register to vote are:

  1. Person must be 18 years of age* and a United States citizen
  2. Person must live at the address provided on the application to register
  3. Person must not be barred from voting by reason of felony conviction
  4. Person must not have been adjudged “mentally incompetent” in a court of law

*A person who will be 18 years old on or before December 12, 2017 may register.

The special election will take place on December 12. Roy Moore and Doug Jones are battling to fill the seat vacated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
