MOBILE, Alabama (WKRG) — With a 21% lead, it appears Mayor Sandy Stimpson will remain in the mayor’s office for another 4 years.
Voter turnout was lower this election than it was four years ago, but the incumbent mayor managed to significantly widen his margin of victory over 2013.
In 2013, Sandy Stimpson won by more than 4,200 votes. Tuesday he is projected to win by 8,469 votes.
When the Mayor returns, he’ll have a familiar city council as well. All incumbent council members will serve another four years along side Stimpson.
