MOBILE, Alabama (WKRG)
8:25 a.m.- Delays continue there from the earlier accident on the Cochrane Causeway north of the Bankhead tunnel. We’re also seeing delays westbound crossing the Bayway, slow and go traffic for a good portion of it into the George Wallace tunnel. Today lane closures on Cottage Hill Road from Azalea to University there from 9 to 3, and also Old Shell between Hurlburt and Florida Street as well. You’re also likely to see delays on the bayway today as people head home from their fourth of July weekend. In Pensacola their earlier accidents have all been cleared.
7:55 a.m.- Well we’ve told you about that accident there on the causeway north of the Bankhead Tunnel causing delays with one lane open both directions. Now we’re seeing delays on the Bayway westbound. There’s a disabled vehicle around 32 mile marker off to the right hand side of the road. We’ve got some slow and go delays there crossing the Bayway from the Eastern Shore towards Mobile. In Mobile we’re accident-free according to Mobile Police and Alabama Highway Patrol. In Pensacola one new trouble spot there at the intersection of Pensacola Boulevard at North W Street.
7:25 a.m. – The westbound Lanes of the Cochrane Causeway are blocked right now with a two vehicle accident involving injuries. Mobile fire and rescue and other emergency vehicles are on the scene this is basically in the causeway north of the Bankhead tunnel up to the Africatown bridge so continue to expect delays there and use a different route. The Bayway actually looks pretty good and the causeway up to the tunnel looks pretty good. In Mobile we’re accident-free according to Mobile Police and in Pensacola no trouble spots there according to Florida Highway Patrol.
6:55 a.m.- A new accident is occurred on the Cochrane Causeway there just north of the Bankhead tunnel. Expect delays with this two car accident that does involve injuries, mobile fire and rescue’s headed to the scene. The bayway looks good both directions no problems through either of the tunnels right now in Mobile looking good I-10 to I-65 no problems in West Mobile. Alabama Highway Patrol reporting no accidents and we’re looking good in Pensacola
6:35 a.m.- It looks like we’ve got a disabled vehicle there I-65 Northbound from the exit ramp on I-10 headed eastbound off to the left hand side of the road. It’s affecting traffic trying to get onto I-65 from I-10 so it’s expect a little delay there. We had an earlier accident I-65 Northbound north of Moffett Road involving an 18-wheeler that should be clearing soon. The Bayway and Causeway look good without any accidents right now in Pensacola according to Pensacola Police and Florida Highway Patrol.
6:10 a.m.- It’s back to work for many of us along the Gulf Coast and if you fall in that category and need to get out on the roadways we’re looking good on the Bayway and Causeway right now. Both directions flowing along nicely and no problems through either of the tunnels. Both Mobile Police and Alabama Highway Patrol reporting no accidents right now in the Mobile area. And in Pensacola both Pensacola Police and Florida Highway Patrol reporting no trouble spots there.
5:56 a.m.- As the sun continues to make its Wednesday morning debut along the Gulf Coast traffic continues to flow along nicely on the Bayway and Causeway. Both directions moving along smoothly without any problems through either of the tunnels. In Mobile both Mobile Police in Alabama Highway Patrol reporting no accidents right now. We’re looking good on I-65 and I-10 and in Pensacola, Pensacola Police and Florida Highway Patrol reporting no trouble spots there.
5:35 a.m.- Updating your early Wednesday morning commute about 45 minutes ago we had an accident Northbound I-65 between Moffett Road and Highway 45 that involved injuries. Mobile Police are there and they’re in the clearing stages so just a few more minutes. No problem southbound. We’re looking good I-10 / I-65. Bayway and Causeway flowing freely both directions without any problems through either of the tunnels and no trouble spots in Pensacola right now.
5:06 a.m.- Your early Wednesday morning commute begins with an accident Northbound I-65 between Moffett Road and Highway 45. Traffic is getting through that area but it does involve injuries so make way as emergency vehicles are on the scene. Again that’s Northbound 65 there, Southbound looks good. No problems right now on the Bayway or Causeway or through the tunnels and we’re accident-free right now in the Pensacola area.
