UPDATE: Police Chase in Theodore, Vehicle Found Burned in the Woods


Mobile Police are searching for the man who escaped from police in a high-speed chase through Theodore on Monday.

In an update from police, News 5 is told Bobby Wayne Rodgers, 31, is still on the loose after evading officers attempting to apprehend him from recent trailer thefts.

As officers surrounded the house they believed he was inside of near Foxland Drive and Foxland Court, Rodgers left the adjacent house in a gray Ford F-150 that had been reported stolen. The officers caught up to the truck and attempted to stop him, but Rodgers refused and fled east on Highway 90.

Rodgers then cut through a neighborhood to get to Nan Gray Davis Road, and from there cut through another neighborhood and drove into a heavily wooded area, at which point the vehicle pursuit ended due to the terrain. The stolen truck was located in the wooded area completely destroyed by fire.

There were no injuries or property damage as a result of the pursuit. The search continues for Bobby Wayne Rodgers.

A police chase is underway in the city of Theodore. At last check the pursuit was off Westfield Road near Theodore High School. If you are in the area please be careful.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, Mobile Police and the U.S. Border Patrol are working this case. The suspect is in the woods.
MPD says it all began with the pursuit of a stolen vehicle.
