Double Homicide in North Mobile County; Suspect on Loose

UPDATE (11:30 p.m. 12/16): The victims of the double homicide have been identified as Douglas Gordon McKinney and his wife Lisanne Watkins McKinney.

According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, both victims were shot several times by Steven Weaver, who was arrested Friday morning. Weaver’s estranged wife was living at the McKinney’s home and was present at the time of the murders.

Weaver is being questioned by the MCSO and will be booked into Mobile Metro Jail Friday afternoon.

UPDATE (3 p.m. 12/15): Suspect is identified Steven Lavern Weaver.

Deputies from the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office are on the scene of a double homicide in the Bucks Area of north Mobile County.

The suspect has fled the scene and deputies are attempting to track him down.

According to a tweet from the MCSO, the homicide occurred on Weaver Road which is off Highway 43 in Bucks.

Alabama Power’s Barry Electric Plant nearby has been placed on lock down in response to the report of an active shooter in the area.
