Trump Campaign, Secret Service to Pay for Trump’s Visit to Mobile

The City of Mobile will not be hefting the bill for President-elect Donald Trump’s upcoming visit.

In a press release Tuesday, the City announced the Trump Campaign and the United States Secret Service will be paying for the December 17th visit to Ladd-Peebles Stadium, the same site of Trump’s visit to Mobile in August.

The event, which marks the final stop of Trump’s “USA Thank You” tour, is expected to begin at 3:00pm CST on Saturday. You can get tickets on Trump’s website or watch on WKRG News 5 and

Mobile will be responsible for costs associated with supporting the Secret Service and nominal costs to support the overall operation, the press release said. All costs relating to the City of Mobile will be released “as soon as possible” after the event’s conclusion.

For Trump’s previous visit in August,  News 5 is told Trump’s visit cost the city $16,711.70.  Here’s the breakdown of the costs from the Mayor’s office:

  • $7,431.70 for overtime wages
  • $1,155 to EllenJay for King Cake gifts
  • $700 Kingdom Coach
  • $4,875 Gulf Coast Tours
  • $2,550 Faith Bus Service
