LOXLEY, AL- Trafficking illegal drugs across the U.S. on a major interstate isn’t a smart move, especially if you’re driving a truck with an expired tag.
On Saturday, deputies with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office stopped a driver on I-10 near the Wilcox Road exit because her pick-up had an expired Texas tag.
Deputies smelled marijuana while conducting the traffic stop and found 84 pounds of marijuana hidden inside a spare fuel tank. The pot is worth about $100,000 on the streets.
Noemi Casique was charged with marijuana trafficking. Casique told deputies she was transporting the pot from Houston to the Tampa area.
Casique is being held in the Baldwin County Jail on one million dollars bond.
