Saturday, about two dozen potential recruits showed up to the academy, ready to apply to become a police officer.

The Mobile Police Department now requires potential applicants go through a physical agility course before they can even apply for the job.

Once passed, the potential recruit then gets an application.

It consists of pushing a car, running, jumping obstacles, push-ups, sit-ups and more.

News 5’s Cassie Fambro followed Saturday’s class of potential recruits to see how things went, and how they feel about becoming officers in this day and age.

The next agility test is Jan. 10, you can learn more on personnelboard.org.
