Drug Trafficker Arrested in Sting Operation at Wal-Mart

The Mobile Police Department arrested a known drug trafficker Tuesday afternoon in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart on Rangeline Road in Tillman’s Corner.

The arrest was made during a sting operation by the Mobile County Street Enforcement Narcotics Team (MCSENT). The operation was part of a long-time investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs into the Gulf Coast.

Terrence McClendon, a 37-year-old from Moss Point, Miss., is sitting in Mobile Metro Jail after being charged with trafficking cocaine. During the arrest, officers seized a kilo of cocaine, which has a street value of approximately $100,000. MCSENT also seized a GMC Yukon during the operation.

McClendon was intercepted by MCSENT before he could deliver the kilo of cocaine to a local drug dealer.
