Battleship Memorial Park will host a special service Wednesday marking the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
It begins at 10:00 a.m. in the Medal of Honor Aircraft Pavilion and includes Bob Jacques, a retired contract historian with the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville.
The 75th Anniversary Commemoration of Pearl Harbor is free of charge and admission to Battleship Park will be waived for the presentation.
The surprise attack on December 7, 1941, by Japanese Naval aircraft on U.S. military installations at Pearl Harbor propelled the United States to enter World War II.
The attack destroyed almost 20 Navy ships, including 8 big battleships.
More than 2,000 American soldiers and sailors were killed in the attack.
