MARY ESTHER, FL- At least five house in Mary Esther were damaged by high winds ahead of an approaching cold front Wednesday morning.
The damaged was isolated, but significant. Houses on Kohler and Mary Esther Drives were hit. A roof was ripped off one house and the back wall collapsed on another.
The storm also toppled trees, downed power lines and knocked over fences. Power was out in the area for several hours.
Fortunately, no one was hurt.
A storm assessment survey team with the National Weather Service will be in Mary Esther Thursday. The team will determine if the damage was caused by a tornado or straight-line winds.
