A local family will have to replace all of their Christmas gifts, after being hit by thieves over the weekend.
Christopher Hanson and his wife Jessica had gone out Black Friday shopping last week.
But because Christopher had to quickly go to work on a shrimp boat, they weren’t able to unload their truck.
It was parked on the causeway near the boat launch when the window was broken out and all of the toys they bought for their three children were in addition to cash and gun in the truck.
“I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe someone would steal from a bunch of children. I can understand the guns, that is my bad, they should have never been in there, but my kids’ stuff that’s something different. I consider myself a big tough mountain man but that’s all I could do to keep from crying over that I can’t believe my kids’ stuff was taken over something so petty,” said Christopher Hanson.
The family says they had an assortment of gifts including, video games, tablets, board games and clothes.
A fundraising page has been set up on the family’s behalf. If you have any information on the crime, call Spanish Fort Police.
