MOBILE, AL (WKRG) — The Hankins Middle School teacher convicted of receiving child pornography was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Monday.
Jeremiah Hunter, a former 8th grade science teacher, was found guilty in July after ”sexting” as many as 9 students who sent nude photos to each other, and to Hunter.
Hunter testified on Thursday that the messages were a misunderstanding. His attorney, Jeff Deen, has filed an appeal.
As we reported earlier this year, Hunter was accused of sexting his students nude photos, and stalking one student he had developed affection towards. News 5 was told by authorities that a picture of the teenage stalking victim was found next to Hunter’s bed. The victim’s photo was also said to be Hunter’s screensaver on his iPhone.
