The American Cancer Society’s 9th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk was a huge success this past weekend. More than 20,000 South Alabama residents walked the streets of downtown Mobile and raised $412,000 to further breast cancer research and spread awareness.
“From research to education, prevention to diagnosis, and treatment to recovery, the American Cancer Society is there every step of the way for anyone facing a breast cancer diagnosis,” said Marlene Rathle, senior community manager for Making Strides. “We support local breast cancer patients and their families through our patient support programs, which include lodging and transportation assistance, and we partner with our medical community to help provide the best care possible.
If you weren’t able to participate in the walk, you can still make a donation to support the American Cancer Society’s cause. Visit MakingStridesWalk.org/MobileAL to make donations.
