Mobile, AL (WKRG)
Hundreds of years ago a monk named Martin Luther sent his 95 Theses to a high-ranking church official. Some sources put October 31st, 1517 as the start of the Protestant Reformation. Luther helped translate the Bible into German and helped make the book available to more people to read and interpret. Before mass translations, the only people who could read the Bible were members of the clergy.
Lutheran Pastor Wayne Miller joins us to talk about the historic event. He’s the head pastor at Grace Lutheran Church in Mobile. The congregation at Grace Lutheran is holding a number of events to commemorate the Reformation. Sunday they’ll have church service at 10:30 with a German Potluck to follow. Monday night at 7:00 there will be a Reformation Hymn Festival. The Church is Located at 1356 Government Street in Mobile.
