Election officials in Mobile County have begun training an increased number of poll workers in anticipation of a big voter turnout on November 8th.
Probate Judge Don Davis says the number of poll workers was increased to a little more than 1400. They will serve the 88 voting polls in Mobile County.
Voters will also see changes at a couple of precincts. Ipads will be used to check voters in at the Creekwood Church of Christ poll and at the Connie Hudson Senior Center on Hillcrest Boulevard. It’s part of a pilot program from the Alabama Secretary of State. Poll workers at those polls will begin training on that next week.
Also next week the counting machines will be tested and sealed against tampering until the votes are ready to be counted on election day.
