Major John Jacobson who friends call ‘Mr. Jack’ celebrated his 106th birthday on Wednesday.
Students and staff at St. Paul’s Episcopal School in Mobile held the celebration in honor of the World War Two veteran. Students created a slideshow and service projects.
Students also brought him a cake and sang ‘Happy Birthday.’ He was presented a key to the City of Mobile. Mr. Jack said thank you with a salute.
Jacobson was a key officer on the staff of General George S. Patton during World War II.
He served as quartermaster officer and went on to establish the military’s premiere quartermaster school.
