BAY MINETTE, AL- The trial of a Baldwin County rancher accused of sexually assaulting several girls is underway in Bay Minette this week.
Jury selection and opening statements for the trial of Tommy Tucker were held Monday. Tucker is accused of inappropriately and forcibly touching and fondling four girls under the age of 16 at his horse camp near Elsanor in 2013.
In opening statements, prosecutors claim back massages led to the fondling in one of Tucker’s guest bedrooms at his ranch house.
Tucker’s attorney told the jury his client is innocent and says the teen accusers are not victims, but were troublemakers with agendas.
Tucker faces 8 counts of felony sexual assault. He faces up to 80 years in prison if convicted on all eight counts.
