Three Men, Two Dogs Rescued from Sinking Boat Near Dauphin Island

NEW ORLEANS – Three men and two dogs were rescued from a sinking boat off Dauphin Island, the Coast Guard announced Wednesday.

Around 10:18 this morning, the U.S. Coast Guard received a report of a vessel taking on water near Dauphin Island.  The Coast Guard launched a 45-foot Response Boat from Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island, an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans, and a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile.

The response boat arrived on scene at approximately 10:30 a.m. and recovered three men and two dogs from the water and transported them back to Station Dauphin Island.

The men were reported to be in stable condition.
