Mobile Police Arrest Student with Gun at Davidson High School

MOBILE, AL (WKRG) — Police have arrested an 18-year-old high school student who was found with a firearm on school grounds.

Samuel Curry of Davidson High School was taken into custody on Thursday morning after police received a report of a student with a gun on campus.  Curry attempted to flee, police said, but was apprehended at his home.

Police say inside Curry’s backpack was a .22 caliber revolver with serial numbers scratched off, a bag of marijuana, a digital scale, and an iPad.  The backpack was found in a garbage receptacle outside Curry’s home.

Curry is charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, Possession of an Altered Firearm, Certain Persons Forbidden to Carry Pistol and No Pistol Permit.

Curry is still listed as an inmate inside Mobile Metro Jail as of Friday morning.
