Loxley Work Release corrections officer Jerrett Derrell Hooks was booked into the facility after being arrested for two counts of helping an inmate escape and one count of using his position for personal gain.
Hooks was taken into custody by the Department of Corrections law enforcement division. According to investigators he is suspected of being an accomplice in an escape that occurred at the facility several months ago and was paid for helping in that escape.
The minimum-security facility houses almost five hundred inmates jailed for non-violent crimes.
Hooks was placed on mandatory leave following his arrest. He is currently being held on 10 thousand dollars bond. The investigation continues.
