A 17-year-old male student from Williamson High School was arrested by Mobile Police on Tuesday for making false reports about a fight at his school.
The calls to police were made on Monday and Tuesday. The male student told police that there was a stabbing at the school, a person had been beaten up, and someone was threatening to murder his family.
Through an investigation, officers determined that the reports were untrue. The student has been charged with two counts of false reporting to law enforcement authority.
The identity of the student will not be released due to his age.
The Mobile Police Department is taking the matter seriously. “Anyone who makes false reports to law enforcement will be located and arrested,” said a spokesperson for Mobile Police in a press release.
Officers also warn that those types of calls can be traced.
