UPDATE (12:10 p.m.) – The murder of Deanthony Means occurred Sunday morning around 12:30 a.m. in the 6400 block of Lillian Drive in Theodore.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found Means with a gunshot wound to the neck. He was pronounced dead by emergency crews on the scene.
According to a statement from Mobile Police, the investigation by detectives has revealed that several male subjects pulled up to the house of Lillian Drive and began firing numerous shots into the home. Means was struck by one of the bullets shot into the home.
UPDATE (9:05 a.m.) – The Mobile County District Attorney’s Office has identified the murder victim as Deanthony Means.
The District Attorney’s Office also announced on Twitter that Trenteon King will appear before a judge tomorrow for his bond hearing.
ORIGINAL STORY – Trenteon King was arrested Sunday by Mobile Police and charged with murder for a crime that happened early Sunday morning in Theodore.
King, a 17-year-old from Mobile, is currently in Mobile Metro Jail awaiting a court appearance. He was picked up Sunday and later charged with murder at Mobile Police Headquarters then escorted to Metro Jail.
News 5 cameras caught King being escorted out of MPD Headquarters. King did not say anything about the homicide or his arrest. The only statement he made to cameras was, “I love you Momma.”
The investigation into the homicide is still active and they are continuing to look for additional suspects, according to a spokesperson with Mobile Police.
The exact location of the homicide in Theodore is unknown at this time. News 5 is reaching out to Mobile Police officials for additional information on the crime.
