Suspects Abandon Car After Police Chase, Loaded Firearms Discovered in Vehicle

PRICHARD, AL (WKRG) — Local police are actively searching for at least three suspects who led police on a chase before abandoning their car in Prichard.

The chase began Monday afternoon when a Chickasaw Police officer tried to pull over a Blue Hyundai for expired registration on Telegraph Road.

The officer pursued the car toward Diaz Street in Prichard when both cars crashed into a third vehicle while trying to make the turn.

Police say the three suspects in the car jumped out and ran in different directions.

Chickasaw Police and other agencies arrived on the scene and pulled multiple firearms from the car.

“We recovered at least four weapons at this time, one of them being an AK-47. All four weapons were completely loaded some of them had high capacity magazines with 30 round clips in them,” said Chickasaw Police Chief Chris McLean.

McLean said it was possible the suspects were looking to do something more violent as the guns were seemingly all next to the occupants in the vehicle.

No one was injured in the crash. If you have information on the suspects’ whereabouts you are asked to call Chickasaw Police.
