The annual bell-ringing ceremony at University of South Alabama Children’s and Women’s Hospital happened Wednesday afternoon for 14 children.
Each of those 14 children celebrated their last round of chemo or treatment by ringing a bell in the USACW courtyard with family and friends present.
This month is National Children’s Cancer Awareness Month as well — you can learn more about that at childrenscancer.org.
Bells were also provided to each child with their names engraved in them to remember the moment.
During the ceremony, there was a big surprise when superheroes, and the Mobile SWAT team, rappelled down the building to surprise the kids. Princesses were also on hand, and even a SWAT dog.
