A man suspected of breaking into a pawn shop and stealing 17 firearms has turned himself in.
Curtis Leon Carson III went to authorities Monday afternoon after he was named as a suspect in the case last Friday.
Police say on September 9 Carson broke into Parkway Pawn and Gun and made off with the firearms.
He was actually arrested two days later allegedly attempting to break into another pawn shop on Government Boulevard.
However, since he had not been identified as a suspect in the first burglary, Carson was able to quickly bond out of jail.
“As we were going back and looking at the video on the 9th we actually recognized Mr. Carson as the person we arrested on the 11th as the person we arrested on Government Boulevard,” said Terence Perkins of the Mobile Police Department.
Police have not said if any of the guns stolen have been recovered.
