ROBERTSDALE, AL- Sheriff’s deputies in Baldwin County arrested two alleged drug runners they say were transporting cocaine from California to Florida.
The coke bust happened Monday on Interstate 10 east of the Wilcox Road exit. Deputies found four kilos of cocaine hidden inside one of the back panels of the car. The cocaine has a street value of about $140,000.
Deputies charged Joel Lopez and Kellie Truitt with trafficking. Both are being held in the Baldwin County jail on one million dollars bond.
Investigators say Lopez and Truitt are drug “mules”- low level traffickers hired to haul the cocaine from the West Coast to the Sunshine State.
