The Airbus Mobile Final Assembly Line delivered its 10th A321 aircraft to Spirit Airlines.
Airbus marked the occasion with a short ceremony and BBQ for employees and guests, that included about 130 Spirit employees.
The assembly line, the first for Airbus in the United States, is now producing two aircraft a month and is on track to make its commitment of four per month by next year, according to FAL manager Daryl Taylor.
Up next for the assembly line; another aircraft for American Airlines and then the first of a big order for Delta Airlines. Another aircraft for Spirit Airlines will also be produced soon.
Spirit is an ultra low-cost air carrier based in Fort Lauderdale, Fl.
