FOLEY, AL- A girl was hit by a car at her school bus stop Friday morning.
The collision happened at the intersection of County Road 65 and 16 south of Foley.
Witnesses say the driver did not stop for the school bus flashing lights or stop sign. The girl appeared to have a leg injury and was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
School superintendent Eddie Tyler told News 5 the girl was back at home and was resting Friday afternoon. Tyler says the 8-year old will be okay.
Witnesses also tell News 5 the driver appeared to be distracted and was on her phone when she hit the student. The driver would not talk to News 5 on camera, but says she was not on the phone.
The driver was ticketed.
