Remembering 9/11 at Semmes Church

Semmes, AL  —  WKRG

Members of Haven Woods Baptist Church held a special 9/11 service at MGM High School Sunday morning to honor first-responders.

“And I would challenge you today, for us, to bend our knee before the Lord and to say God thank-you for your protection from that time,” said Pastor Ricky Watt to the congregation. Watt said being a first-responder has only gotten harder since 2001.

“Whenever you get that call in the middle of the night you don’t know where you’re going or what you’re going into, you don’t know what the circumstances may be,” said Watt. The pastor’s message focused on the steps to being courageous in a world of division and troubles.

“That’s why I firmly believe Satan is out there trying to divide us over every little issue because he knows we’re better together,” said Watt.
