A single vehicle crash last night in Pensacola claimed the life of one woman and sent another woman to the hospital in serious condition.
The crash occurred on Perdido Key Drive Saturday night around 10:40 p.m. near the intersection of Johnson Beach Road, which is near the Beach Colony Resort.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of the vehicle lost control and overcorrected causing the vehicle to overturn. Once the vehicle overturned, it struck a utility pole on the south shoulder of Perdido Key Drive.
The crash claimed the life of Tonia Quebedeaux, a 45-year-old from Ardnaudville, Louisiana, who was a passenger in the vehicle. Lisa Johnson, a 50-year-old from the same town, was the driver of the vehicle and she remains in serious condition at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.
The vehicle was 2008 Ford F250 and both passengers were wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred. It is unknown if alcohol was involved in the accident.
