Officials have identified the victim in last week’s Airgas explosion in Cantonment as Jesse Folmar.
Folmar, 32, was a native of Pensacola and enjoyed sports and particularly loved dirt track racing, according to his obituary.
Airgas released a statement earlier this week about Folmar’s death.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of a member of our Airgas family. Our sincere condolences and thoughts are with the family, friends, and colleagues of this associate,” they said.
An investigation is still underway into the exact cause of the explosion.
NeSmith Street Stocks will run 38 laps at Flomaton Speedway, the number of Folmar’s dirt racing car, in his honor on Monday.
